Lokanarkavu Temple

  Temple is a place of supreme divinity and purity, where human temptations remain abated and the soul is raised to a higher level of eternal happiness.
The high spirits one happens to experience after a temple visit can never be recreated or mimicked by the best of modern medicine or therapies.
Lokambika, as the Goddess is popularly addressed, is the Mother Goddess form of the supreme self. As the ‘Adiparashakti’(feminine attribute of God),the Goddess offers motherly love and care to all her devotees, irrespective of who and what they may be.  
Temple has three poojas normally,Usha pooja(morning),Ucha pooja(noon),and athazha pooja(night).
Festivals
Mandala Vilakku Festival:This festival is from the 1st of Malayalam month Vrischikam to the month end.The sixteenth day of Vilakku is called ‘Nagara Vilakku’,the 20th day of vilakkufestival by Ayyappas.
Pooram Mahotsavam:  This festival is beginning from the aster of Rohini to aster of pooram is in Malayalam month Meenam is an eight day festival.
Navarathri Festival: The Malayalam month of Kanni is yet another important festival.Infact it is said to to be the most auspicious time to worship Lokambika for better learning,success in performances and to start new ventures.

Lokanarkavu Bhagavathi Temple is situated at Memunda, around 5 km from Vadakara. The temple is dedicated to goddess Durga. It also has two adjacent shrines dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva. There are three rock cut caves in the temple premises which are artfully engraved with beautiful carvings and fascinating murals.
